Throughout history only a handful of men and women have mastered the craft of acting, they've enriched our lives with their exceptional command of the arts and have incontrovertibly revolutionised the theatre for generations to come. Dan is not one of those actors. Matt and Cecelia are at odds discussing the future of their blundering but well-meaning son Daniel Jenkins after losing his 4th job this month. Punctuality, efficiency and competence are words his employers would seldom use to characterise the 25-year-old despite what his resume might suggest - he's a lost cause in the making. Following a horrific tragedy at his year 12 performance (which he caused) his faith in his own ability has all but faded, though his love of acting persists. His determined albeit selfish father is confident that the stage will bring out Dan's undiscovered talent. Landing the lead role by impressing Douglas (a sleazy, unabashed pervert) Dan is thrust into the spotlight of a medieval play much to the director's indignation. His options are to deliver a fully imagined performance that will bring the audience to tears or never work in theatre again. For once Dan is determined to see something through. His burger flipping days are over.
