Shrek Forever After — the title sounds like a curse, and the movie may feel that way for its celebrity voice cast, which sounds about as enthusiastic as Jell-O Night at the Lethal Weapon retirement home. By Shrek 3, what started as a lark — a merry nose-thumbing at the Disney fairytale factory and its white-bread standards of happily ever after — had morphed into an albatross: a product line with a half-dozen obligatory characters, merch to be managed, and a picked-over orchard of low-hanging pop-culture fruit.
